Canberra re-visited

Last Saturday, I managed to visit Canberra with my friends. We went to Cockington Green Garden, Floriade, Australian War Memorial, National Museum of Australia, Parliament House and other interesting places.

We went there using rented car or a van should I say? Its small, like a mitsubishi L-300 which is usually used by inter-city travel agent in Java. And it was not comfortable at all. We ( Eni, Bakhri and I ) got the back-seat row, and I couldn’t put my legs properly coz the space is very small, and the worst part is, during that 3-hours trip form Syd-Can I couldnt sleep either because there was no head rest!! (noted that the night before I didnt sleep at all).

So you can Imagine, along the trip I felt that my body was not delicious (badan rasanya gak enak, hihihi), felt dizzy, sleepy and tired, especially at the return trip to Sydney, my stomach felt terible.

But despite all of those, should I say, “disturbance” the trip overall was quite pleasant. The places that we visited during that day was very interesting. Especially the Floriade. I could see many tulips and colorfull flowers. It might have been better if it was not soooooo crowded, and hot!! It was so hot that most of the flowers were burnt! And we arrived there at twelve o’clock in the afternoon, the sun shined so bright that it was difficult for me to take a picture. And not to mention that my camera was run out of battery after 141 shots! Ohh, what a nightmare!

Cerita Basi 15 Sept

Well, yang ini udah lama sih. Tepatnya tgl 15 sept kemarin, saya ke BookFest di Usyd. Belajar dari kekecewaan sewaktu mengunjungi Book Fair di UNSW (datang hari pertama, jam 1 siang, dan semua buku arsitektur ludes dengan sukses), saya dan mbak Eni bela”in pagi-pagi sekitar jam 9 ke Kampus. BookFair nya buka jam 10:00am, dan setiba di sana sekitar jam 09:30am, antrian sudah lumayan panjang.

Tepat jam 10 pagi, BookFest di mulai, dan saya langsung tancap gas ke bagian buku-buku architecture/town planning. Eng Ing Eeeeng, satu persatu buku saya masukin ke tas belanja. Abis itu ke bagian Engineering, cari buku-buku tentang Environmental Engineering, trus ke bagian Computer, lumayan dapat bbrp buku menarik, trus abis itu ke bagian Science Fiction, dan menyusul ke bagian English Learning.

Sekitar satu jam kemudian, saya nyari-nyari mbak Eni, sambil tersaruk-saruk menenteng buku-buku belanjaan. Gileeee, orang yang satu ini rupanya lagi sibuk menata buku-buku kedokteran yang rata-rata setebal kotak sepatu, sampai 3 keranjang belanjaan!!!

Singkat cerita, jam 2 siang kami pulang. Sebenarnya masih banyak yang ingin di beli, tapi apa daya, dari pada tangan dan punggung patah gara-gara mikulin buku? Itu pun saya harus berhenti tiap 10m, gara-gara pegal mikulin tas belanjaan dari Quadrangle sampai Bus Stop (panas-panas, puasa lagi..).

-mudah-mudahan kebaca ntar hehehe, abis AUD 50.5 nih-

Nyesal juga sebenarnya, ada beberapa buku menarik ttg webdesign dan buku ttg macro-economics yang ingin saya beli, trus gak sempat nyari buku cerita anak anak, plus home&gardening buat oleh-oleh untuk ibu di rumah.

Yah, mudah-mudahan sebelum pulang masih sempat ke Book Fair nya Sydney Museum di Boxing Day. Sekarang masalahnya, semoga duit tabungan masih cukup untuk mengirim buku-buku tsb ke tanah air.

Im only subsist because God want me to. Between my lies and ego, and promises that I’ve made. Yet sometimes I wonder why I live my life this way, and pick the path that I would regret, later, so.

Maybe a good tight sleep will do me a favour. Sometimes I dreamt of people marching in a sudden. I tried to catch but found me sleep instead. I woke up, running, but my foot didnt even move. Then I realised that I was still asleep, woke up again, and again, and again, and again.

Im Stuck!!

Deathly Hallows

Setelah seharian mengurung diri di kamar, di atas tempat tidur + 2 lapis selimut, akhirnya… kira-kira jam 9 malam tadi selesai juga baca HP ke-7.. fiewh ! Seru boss!! Dibanding dengan seri-seri sebelumnya, yg ini lebih tegang, serius, dan lebih “dark”. Saking serunya, joke dari Ron, George n Fred Weasly yg biasanya super lucu n jadi daya tarik tersendiri, jadi berubah garing total.

Yang jelas, ceritanya lain sama sekali dari gosip-gosip atau hoax yg beredar di internet. Satu-satunya kritik, saya tidak terlalu suka dengan ending nya, yang menurut saya terlalu… (hehehe tdk seru kalau saya ceritakan di sini, mungkin sebaiknya anda baca sendiri).

Senang juga cerita HP berakhir… tapi sedih juga, tahun” depan tdk ada lagi yg ditunggu-tunggu. Jujur saja, saya sebenarnya anti sekali baca buku yg isinya cuma teks, tanpa gambar, apalagi sampai beratus-ratus lembar. (Pengecualian untuk Kho Ping Hoo, Trio Detektif, 5 sekawan, Sapta Siaga, apa lagi ya..). Namun si JK Rowling ini memang benar-benar genius! Angkat topi deh!

Saking asyik nya, dlm waktu 24 jam, 607 halaman HP 7 bisa selesai. Cuman sayang, jika berhadapan dengan text book kuliah, kok jadi malezzz banget baca nya. Jadi ingat nobita… 1 lembar pertama mata berkunang-kunang, 2 lembar jadi ngantuk, di lembar ke-3: tidur dengan sukses.

Hi friends…. (Well, nice to know that I have friends) nice to meet you again!
Wow, what a jammed pack weeks of holidays! What a magnificent days of doing nothing, a regime of an excessive sleep routines, a shopping madness during winter sales, and a sudden visit from friends which forced me to go out and experience Sydney (again) in winter. Fiewh…. I thought I have rejuvenate my self full enough to face this upcoming semester.

And sorry for not updating this ugly blog for soooo long. I guess you are all aware that after having tones of assignments in the previous semester, an activity which involved typing more than 50 words suddenly become an unpleasant reminder of those days in fiasco. Hahaahaha. (I even avoided typing SMS; I wanted to give a rest for my mind and soul (and especially for my carpal-tunnel-syndrome fingers)).

Well, its time for me now to do a little warm up, exercising my “mengarang indah” skill, a very important skill which you would need badly if you are enrolled in a Planning field.

Hmm… so, for this first edition, I will tell you a story about “visiting Sydney Tower”. An experience which I would like to compare it later with “visiting Menara Persatuan” or maybe “Monas” in the near future (Or maybe “Petronas Tower”? Hmm…). F.y.i right now in my hometown, Kendari, which is the capital city of Southeast Sulawesi, there is a “mega (useless) project” of constructing a “Menara Persatuan” tower (which I guess has a much resemblance of that “Shang-hai TV Tower”, apart form it’s dimensions).

Back to Sydney Tower, I am not going to tell you all the nitty bitty about it and the tour packet availabe, coz if you visit this website it will provide you all the information you need. I just want to tell you that the aerial night view of Sydney City is awesome! These are photos which I managed to take from the observation deck.

It was quite difficult to capture these images; coz the observation deck was not dark enough. The neon lights from the lobby were causing too much glare on the window glass. As a result, most of my pics are contained the view of panels behind me. You don’t need to worry if you forget to bring your tripod, coz you can use the observation binocular, it gave me a quite stable platform for my camera.

That night we took the cheapest ticket (observation deck + OzTrek), about AUD$18. OzTrek was quite interesting, but it can be more exciting if they can make the movement of the hydraulic-chair smoother.

I started a new fresh week, always with the same “guilty feeling”…
And asking my self over and over again
for things I’ve done this weekend
… and for the last weekend, and the previous weekends
And for the things that were supposed to be done
And for the things that were not supposed to be done
Regrets…

O God, please help this lazy soul
And let me pay for these sinful act
I promise no (excess) sleep until all my assignments are done!
To do everything that must be done

Promise no more searching UFO on youtube, no blogwalking, kompas and detik.com, yahoo IM, or even my campus e-mail and other websites that I randomly click.

Nglembur di Kampus

Apa enaknya nglembur tugas di Kampus?

Komputer Dual XEON, RAM 2Gb LCD 20″ + semua software yg dibutuhkan

Internet access super banter n gak pake quota

Banyak teman senasib seperjuangan, walaupun tidak saling kenal

Banyak kejadian lucu

Gak ada kasur

Kalo mo jajan, tinggal ke vending machine

Mo nge-print atau nge-plot, tinggal pilih

Bisa mendengar nyaris seluruh bahasa di dunia dalam satu lab

Gak bakalan ngantuk karena banyak “fresh screen saver”

Nggak Enaknya?

Ada couple yg “indehoy” mlulu di kompie depan

Nyaris terkunci di lab, gara” ada yg iseng nutup pintu

Kopi di vending machine yg rasanya gak kayak kopi

Gak bisa tidur (lha gimana sih?)

Gak bisa nonton tivi (???)

Mesti bawa semua buku ke lab, berat man!

Takut kalo tiba” ada cowok asia masuk, bawa senjata api, n suddenly shooting us randomly huehehehe
